Glorious Bounty
Ah, behold the magnificent nectarine, so sweet and juicy and tantalizing to eat...

What, you've never seen a baby eating a nectarine before?

Mmmm, nectarine...

Hmm, my head is almost bigger than Daddy's - gee, thanks Mom.

Attack the Daddy!

What a good way to end the day (well, this and a bottle of formula).

Mostly Recovered
I seem to be mostly over my cold, which is a good thing. However, Mommy thinks I might be teething seriously, seeing as how it seems like I screamed all day. I did take a brief respite from that to sit up like a big girl.

A bright note in the day - Grace is letting me borrow her exer-saucer - I really like this!

Video Clip
Here's a video clip of Willow, directed and edited by Steve. You may also right click on the link and save it to your computer - if you have a slower connection, this will allow it to play at correct speed. Make sure you have the sound on. Enjoy!

On the Mend
I'm feeling better today. Now if only Mommy would stop using that infernal nose booger sucker thing! I really hate that. I've been using this down time to practice some new sounds. Right now, I'm experimenting with the traditional Chinese opera style... for those who know what that sounds like, you know what I mean. This sound pleases me a lot. Mommy doesn't care what sounds I make as long as I'm not screaming and crying! Here's a picture of me feeling better - notice the jeans - another 95 cent score from the thrift store.

Here are a couple of pictures of me getting ready for a nap in the bouncy seat - Mommy says this helps with my sinus drainage. Whatever, it's comfortable and I can breathe.

My other exciting news is that I'm getting cloth diapers. Baby Bruce let me borrow one of his, and Mommy was really pleased with the diaper... she'd have to be to go the hippie route! It will be at least a couple of weeks before I get them, but I'm looking forward to it.

A Trip to the City
Today I went with Mommy, Bridget, and Bruce to the Italian Market. Fun times! Our biggest adventure of the day has no picture to go with it. Mommy hit two giant geese with her car. She was going slowly, so there was no damage, and the geese continued to fly, but man oh man was it crazy! (it was entirely the geese's fault... I swear, seriously) Mommy handled it very courageously, but those birds were very stupid! Since everyone was okay, and there was no damage to the windshield, Bridget and Mommy had a good laugh... well, after Mommy was done almost hyperventilating...
Here, Bruce and I are preparing to head out...

Here I am enjoying an iced coffe at Anthony's (haha)...

I'm sitting up so well now...

and a cute action shot.

Battling Evil Forces
No Worries
Yes, Mommy was right. Monday was a much better day. I took naps all day long, and then got to hang out with Kristine in the evening while Mommy went to orchestra
Thank goodness!

(oh, the captions that could go with this picture)

A Bad Day
I kind of had a bad day yesterday... my 2nd tooth came in, which while exciting, hurt like heck. Then I dropped a VCR remote on myself twice... it didn't really hurt, but it scared me and I cried a lot, which made Mommy sad. Then at church, I was grumpy from no napping, and then to top it all off, I fell forward and bumped my head (don't worry, I'm okay...) on the floor. Whew, it was rough.
Mommy promised today would be a better day. So far, I'm not so sure - here she is sticking her finger in my mouth to get a picture of my tooth... it's the little white dot there....

But it can only get better from here, right?

Paka and Grammy Visit
Paka and Grammy came for a visit this week - just a couple of days, but I was glad to see them. First, I helped Mommy clean. Notice the new canopy and drapes... very cool - I feel like I'm in the East Indies in the 1800's. Except for the bugs, although the heat and humidity feel close to what I imagine it would be...

Thursday night we just hung around the house... I'm teething again, so I entertained everyone with my screams. Fun times! (Muahahaha!) Friday we went out to Shady Maple - here I am with Paka and Grammy...

Then it was on to Intercourse (hehe) and Kitchen Kettle Village. This is where Grammy and Aunt Jane sell their ornaments, and where you can purchase Aunt Jane's collectible quilted pillows. Here I am with Daddy. This was Mommy's attempt for me to blend in with the local culture...

There was a man with a monkey, but I was more interested in the moss on the roof...

and here's a group shot...

Then it was on to Aunt Jane's to meet the family (sorry, only Paka got pictures of this...) Here's a picture of Paka feeding me dinner (he eventually got the hang of it)

It was a great visit - I was sorry to see them go. Curious why I call him Paka?Till next time!

Stylin'
When I was a little baby, Grammy found some totally stylin' Ralph Lauren baby jeans - boot cut, stretch of course. They're size 12-18 months. Mommy thought, "hmm, since she's wearing 12 mos. size now, maybe these will fit." Well, let's just say getting the jeans on me was like watching Mommy put jeans on. Haha! As you can see from the pictures, they're still a little long. Maybe they'll fit better once I'm taller and moving around more. Or maybe these jeans are made for the children of 6 foot women that weigh 100 pounds. Who knows.

Oh, the things my Mommy puts me through.

Egg-licious
So today, I graduated (in honor of being 7 months this week) to chewing foods... Mommy decided that I should try hard boiled egg yolk today. It was alright - I'm not sure why she was so excited about this hard boiled egg yolk. Frankly, it was a little pasty and smelly. Oh well - here's a picture of me chomping down on the egg yolk.

I got back at Mommy by raspberrying the egg yolk all over her. She says I have to try it again tomorrow... we'll see about that...
At dinner, Mommy gave me an apple slice. I really enjoyed this. It was fun to bite down with my tooth and chew it up. I also enjoyed spitting chunks of the apple at Mommy. Haha - she'll never learn will she?! Here's a picture of me eating the apple slice. Did I mention how tasty this was? I look forward to more of this in the future.

This and That
Sunday was a day of doings... First, we went to Super Sunday in Media...

Then we went to home depot (evil parents woke me up from my nap)...

Dad set up the tent thing that Mama T. sent (again, I was napping, and therefore am not pictured)...

then it was off to church to hang out with friends in the nursery.
Today, I hung out with Ben and Sammy. Here I am with Sammy (watch out Bruce!)...

A New Addition
The mighty lower right lateral tooth has appeared and staked its claim in Willow's mouth. After a valiant battle with the evil gums, the tooth courageously triumphed. A picture is not available at this time because it is too small. It can, however, be seen upon close inspection (if you push her tongue away and move her lip...however, if you do this to my child, we might have to have words...only parents are allowed this kind of torture!).

A Day of Firsts
Today Willow sat unassisted for the first time - no leaning forward, nothing. This accomplishment is loosely portrayed in this picture, where she is in fact leaning forward - this is because I could not get to the camera fast enough.

Here's a funny picture...

And this is what parents do with too much time or not enough sleep on their hands (I stole this from Bruce's blog)...

Also, I can feel Willow's first tooth cutting through. She let me know this was happening by screaming for at least an hour this afternoon. Fun times. I did not take a picture of that.
Here are a couple of pictures from a Labor Day cookout - first, Willow with Dad, and then Willow with Dad, Bruce, and Bridget.

We'll end with a good tummy time pose.
