Potty!
I sat on my potty for the first time last night. Nothing happened, but I sat there for awhile whilst Mommy ran water in the sink as an incentive. This exciting event is slowly becoming part of my daily routine. You can be sure Mommy will let you know when something actually happens.

Christmas To-Do
Here I am in my beautiful Christmas dress - we went to church Sunday night, and I got to play with some older kids. Apparently, I was the only little one in the nursery area. So they were all at my beck and call.

(Mommy's sick, so this is as good as it gets)

Christmas morning, we opened our gifts. What a to-do! We didn't take pictures of everything - rather, here's a sample...

Christmas Party
Last night, Mommy and Daddy's kinship had a little Christmas gathering - which frankly, I could care less about.
The exciting news was all the food I got to eat...
olives - green and black
ham & cream cheese balls
artichoke hearts (not so much)
chips
rice krispie treats
and who knows what else Granny slipped me. It was so delicious!
Today, I'm tired. Possibly from all the eating last night as they didn't keep me up past my bedtime.

Goings On
Mommy's a slacker - she hasn't been feeling so well this week...
Last night for dinner, I had mini corn-dogs, a fruit bar, and some frozen peas. Obviously, I had mustard with my corn dogs. However...while I was waiting for them to cool off enough, I enjoyed dipping my fruit bar in the mustard. Mommy tried really hard to not look grossed out. After all, there's nothing *wrong* with eating fruit bars and mustard...
Also, I had a bite of her 3 Musketeers bar. It was like a party in my mouth.
Continuing with crappy food - she let me have a peanut butter cookie after dinner. Awesome! Now I know what that container is on the table, and I'm asking for it all the time. Mommy is not giving in though. She's a tough one.
No pictures - we're having battery related camera problems again...
For lunch today, I'm having shrimp flavor ramen noodles with tuna and frozen peas. Mmmm. If Mommy could stomach it, she'd let me have mustard with it, but instead, I just got some Bragg's Liquid Aminos. That's good too.
I've kind of been a toot this week. A little bit teething, a little bit tired of Mommy and the house all day, a little bit natural tootness.

Mustardy Goodness
I really like mustard - hot mustard, regular mustard, you name it. If I've got left over mustard on my plate, I will dip anything into it, or just eat it straight. For example...I had mini corn dogs for lunch with mustard. The corn dogs are gone...but hey, I've still got frozen green peas... that's obviously a winning combination!

Happenings
Mommy has joined the crowd and decided I can have juice. It's not my favorite yet - I'm used to refreshing water, but I do like it in small amounts.

Paka and Grammy sent me this awesome winter coat - I just got it today, so of course we had to try it on and take pictures. I smiled very big when I saw it. Thanks Paka and Grammy!

TRAUMA!
My world has briefly come to an end. Blankie and bunny are in the wash. Mommy says they're getting a "bath", but I doubt if I'll ever see them again.
In other news, Mommy had a brilliant idea, and fished out an old cell phone - so now I have my very own. Yay!
I still want blankie back tho'.
*update - blankie and i have been reunited. all is well. phew.

Ooooh
Go here to see one of my Christmas presents I'm getting this year.
Just in case you're wondering, Mommy doesn't have any expectations, but it's a beginning. As Granny says, in Japan, they start at 18 months. Mommy says she's not Japanese, but is ready to give this a whirl. When it arrives, rest assured there will be lots of pictures.

Clothes
Mommy scored some 95 cent tops at the thrift store. Here I am modeling the first - a lovely red sweater in excellent shape. I look so grown up in it. And yes, I have a purple barrette in my hair - and no, it doesn't match my sweater (although it matches my socks) - but it was the only one Mommy could find, and she was tired of my updo.

Some Pictures
Here are some pictures - Mommy's been slacking again.

I sat at my little table to eat for the first time. It went moderately well. I'm still a little short for the chair, and Mommy was worried I'd fall out of it. But I did fine. (I'm eating a chimichanga. I love this mexican type food! Mommy and Daddy are very proud.)

I've been sitting my baby doll at this table and "fixing" her "food" for her to "eat". Very cute.

Thanksgiving
Here are some pictures Paka took over Thanksgiving...
At Jane's house, playing with toys that make noise...whose idea was that again??

browsing The Belsnickel Craft Show (learn more about what a belsnickel is here) with Daddy - this is where Jane and Grammy "throw down" with their mad crafts...

here's a picture of the elusive Grammy (Paka also featured) at Jane's house.

at the park with Paka...Mommy wasn't there, so I actually got to experience dirt - sometimes, Mommy is a little too prissy for me.

a stunning family picture - this is what Mommy looks like when she's trying not to throw up. thanks for saving it for posterity Paka.

DISGUSTING
This story must be prefaced with the following:
A couple of nights ago, Daddy was at the computer. Mommy and I were already in bed. All of a sudden, he sees a shadow of something on the desk. Due to the size, his first thought was that it might be a mouse. Then further evidence led him to believe it was a giant bug. He couldn't find it, and went upstairs when he was finished. Mommy was of course FREAKED out at the thought of a giant bug hanging out in the office.
Fast forward to this morning.
Mommy's lounging on the couch, and catches a glimpse of me. I seem to have mud all over my pants. She comes over to me to inspect. Hmm. It doesn't really look like mud, but it doesn't really look like anything else. Then she notices a very long insect leg on the floor. She looks at my mud clump again. It's a squashed bug. It's a giant squashed bug. Green bug guts are all over my pink pants. She looks around for any signs of bug remnants, and finds another giant bug leg in another part of the dining room.
We get some scary basement bugs that occasionally find their way upstairs. Normally via the cats. The most dreaded of these is the scallywag (the silver colored milipede type icky bugs that Mommy HATES). Second to this is the mysterious giant jumping bug - it sort of looks like a stinkbug, but it's not, and it jumps really high. *shudder*
Here are the conclusions Mommy drew:
1. the bug was already dead
1a. the bug was really big, but indiscernable as to its type. the legs were like a cricket, but the bug seemed bigger than that. maybe it was the mysterious jumping bug. *shudder*
2. i sat on it.
3. after sitting on it, i apparently log rolled back and forth over the dead bug so as to smear guts all over both pant legs.
4. Mommy is thanking Jesus that I sat on it and didn't try to eat it.
AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!
Mommy changed my pants too. *shudder*

Routines
During the week...
Mommy comes in my room in the morning to get me ready for the day. I say "my dada?" She responds "daddy's at work". then I say "yeah yeah".
At multiple times during the day, I "call" Daddy on my play phone. I dial, and say "my dada, mama, dada" etc...
It's very cute.
I like the weekends when Daddy gets me up in the morning. Mommy does too.

Sunday Fun
I was really diggin' Daddy's shirt yesterday. He put it on me, and I was the bee's knees. I would have left it on all night if he'd let me.

Here's an awesome piano that's a hand me down from my cousin Stratton. Mommy forgot this was in the basement. It's a full-blown synthesizer (the lid raises up and all the buttons/etc... are in there). Here's my Schroeder moment.

The piano is still a little old for me, so Mommy's putting it back away for a few months. I look forward to making music on it again.

A Message From Her Royal Tootness
Hear ye, Hear ye.
Let it be known, that I, Willow, Her Royal Tootness, who is possibly cutting a tooth, possibly having an ear infection, and definitely has the sniffles, am currently boycotting this peasant notion of sleep. Who needs a nap? Pthhb, I say.
As Her Royal Tootness, it is fully within my right to not only refuse to fall asleep quickly like I normally do, but to also refuse the array of food that Her royal subject (aka Mommy) lays before her. Again, I say pthhb. I say bring me my nuggets! Bring me anything Mommy is eating! But away with this hog feed she seeks to feed me! (green beans, pineapple, pear, peanut butter, pancakes...the list grows)

Social Butterfly
This morning I had a playdate with Grace and Becca. Fun times!

Here I am this evening modeling my butterfly outfit (compliments of Grace).

And here I am at the mall. We met up with Bruce, and we had lots of fun. I was a little squirrely about standing still to have my picture taken. It was all so exciting. Walking, pushing my stroller, getting free candy for Mommy and Daddy, socializing. Literally - I said "hi" to everyone I could.

Here's my favorite picture from the evening.

Halloween
Tonight I'm going trick or treating at the mall with Mommy and Daddy. Mommy has a LOT of mixed feelings about Halloween grossness, and is not sure what to expect. In any event, there will be lots of pictures to come of me in my borrowed costume (hopefully it fits, Mommy hasn't tried it on me yet). Please remember my blog is not a forum for your personal takes on Halloween. :) Mommy has given this a lot of thought, and is taking this one year at a time.
So...we'll see how it goes! I'm excited about being a butterfly though.

Pictures
I've just woken up from a nap. I'm happy and rested!

Here I am telling Mommy that I've got a poop diaper. She's not happy.

Grin :)

I love working with buckles/clasps like these.

Here's my new baby stroller (on sale AND had a coupon).

I'm putting the baby in the stroller.

And once again with the interesting fasteners.
