Argh.

Mommy's been searching for a play kitchen for me. Used - brand new, they are absurdly expensive when you can even find them. She's tried many different places, including scouring local yard sales.

Today, we swung by the thrift store around the corner to drop stuff off. They weren't open yet. In their donation bin-thing, there sat a very nice play kitchen. Mommy rang the buzzer, and the manager came out. He refused - REFUSED - to let Mommy buy it then and there. Was very unhelpful - told Mommy he didn't know when it would be available, bla bla bla... Mommy was both sad and VERY ticked off, but tried to be gracious. After all, the manager was probably just following protocol.

Later in the day, Daddy swung by to see if it was there. It was no longer outside, so he went in the store. He asked if it had been cleaned up yet, etc... and the same manager went back to find out - remembered who Daddy was, etc...

The manager came back out. Apparently, his lackey had not followed orders to bring it in at a certain point, and it got stolen.

So... to quote a movie... the manager "chose poorly". He could have sold it to us for cash. Our monies would have gone to help their group (don't remember what it is - something noble).. but instead we all lost out.

ARGH.

The search continues.

On a brighter note, Daddy has finished the floors downstairs, and they are BEAUTIFUL. I like to scoot around splinter free, swinging my legs every which way. It's heavenly.
